Ogun Students Commend Governor Abiodun as Late MAPOLY Best Graduate’s Family Receives ₦2.5 Million Award
The award, which was initially announced during the institution’s last convocation ceremony, was recently handed over to the bereaved family in fulfillment of the Governor's promise to honor academic excellence even in the face of tragedy.
Representatives of various student bodies, including the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun Axis, hailed the gesture as a demonstration of "empathetic and compassionate leadership."
The student leaders noted that the Governor's decision to uphold the financial reward despite the student's untimely demise sends a strong message of encouragement to other scholars across the state that their hard work and dedication will always be recognized by the government.
Stakeholders at the polytechnic expressed that such incentives play a vital role in motivating the student body to strive for high academic standards. The late graduate, who emerged as the overall best student across all departments, was recognized for an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) that set a benchmark for future cohorts.
the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, reaffirmed its commitment to the "Building Our Future Together" agenda, emphasizing that investment in human capital and the recognition of talent remain top priorities for the Abiodun administration in 2026.
