Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke appoints Prof. Taiwo Asaolu as the First VC of the University of Ilesa, Before his current appointment, Asaolu, a professor of Accounting and Finance, served as Dean of the Faculty of Administration, OAU.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of principal officers for the newly established University of Ilesa.

A statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday, said Prof. Taiwo Asaolu from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has been appointed pioneer Vice Chancellor of the university, while Mr Funso Ojo was named the Registrar of the institution.

Dr Mukaila Oyekanmi was named the Bursar, while Mr Adewale Ogunsipe was appointed the Librarian

Before his current appointment, Asaolu, a professor of Accounting and Finance, served as Dean of the Faculty of Administration, OAU.

He also served as the Chairman of the University of Ilesa review panel, a committee set up by Adeleke to address outstanding issues for the eventual take-off of the institution.

Rasheed in his statement also said the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Teslim Igbalaye, who issued letters of appointments to the principal officers, had a meeting with the appointees in his office where he charged, “them to uphold the virtue of professionalism and integrity which endeared them to the State Governor and which recommended them for the appointments.”
