PAAU Unveils Programme of Events for 7th Convocation and 25th Anniversary Celebration
The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has officially announced the programme of events for its 7th Convocation Ceremony and 25th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, January 21 to Saturday, January 24, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu O. Tenuche, FNPSA, FSPAP, GFACSS, on behalf of the University Council, Senate, and Congregation, extended a formal invitation to members of the university community, stakeholders, and the general public to participate in the historic celebrations.
According to the programme released by the university, activities will commence on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with a Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing at 10:00 a.m. at the University Auditorium. This will be followed by a Book Presentation at 12:00 noon and an Anniversary Lecture at 3:00 p.m., both at the same venue. The day’s events will conclude with a Novelty Football Match at the University Stadium by 5:00 p.m. The guest lecturer for the anniversary lecture is Dr. Majeed Dahiru, a journalist and public policy analyst.
Activities continue on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with the Convocation Lecture scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the University Auditorium. The lecture is themed “Mineral Resources Beneficiation: A Bedrock to National Sovereignty, Development and Security in Nigeria.” The lecture will be delivered by Professor Paul O. Omoju, National Research Fellow at the African Centre for Energy Policy and Head of the Energy and Environment Programme at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru. A Convocation Play will later hold at the Theatre Arts Drama Hall by 6:00 p.m.
On Friday, January 23, 2026, the university will conduct Convocation Ceremonies for the Award of Bachelor’s Degrees in Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Basic Medical Sciences, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The ceremony will take place at the University Stadium by 10:00 a.m., with graduating students expected to be seated by 9:30 a.m. A Convocation Cocktail will follow later in the evening at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge by 6:00 p.m.
The programme will conclude on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with the Commissioning of Projects at 10:00 a.m. at the University Auditorium. This will be followed by convocation ceremonies for the award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Higher Degrees across the faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The final segment of the ceremony will feature the Conferment of Honorary Degrees on eminent Nigerians and the presentation of awards to deserving individuals, starting at 1:00 p.m.
The university described the convocation and anniversary celebration as a landmark event reflecting its growth, academic contributions, and commitment to national development over the past 25 years.
