The Borno State Police Command has apprehended eight individuals suspected to be involved in the tragic killing of a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.
According to ASP Daso Kenneth, the spokesperson for the command, the arrests followed a report filed by the university's Chief Security Officer, who discovered the body of Dr. Abdulkadir Kamal in his office.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the assailants, armed with a knife and hammer, attacked Dr. Abdulkadir in his office. The motive behind the murder is yet to be determined.
Prof. Danjuma Gambo, the university's spokesperson, emphasized that the authorities have granted full authority to the police and other security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
He urged both the university community and the public to remain calm, assuring them that the police are committed to apprehending the culprits.
