Police Rescue Two Kidnapped Students, Arrest Three Suspects In Ebonyi

Two kidnapped students have been rescued unharmed by police operatives in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Acting on intelligence, officers from the Ikwo Police Division raided an uncompleted building where the victims were being held. 

Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Anthonia Uche-Anya, disclosed the operation during a press briefing in Abakaliki. She confirmed that three suspects were arrested and remain in custody as investigations continue.

Between July and mid-August 2025, the Command recorded significant achievements, including the arrest of 131 suspects for various offences. 

Of these, 52 have already been charged to court.

The police also recovered six 

vehicles, 15 firearms, and 50 rounds of ammunition, while dismantling several criminal hideouts across the state. The Commissioner noted that early warning systems and dialogue-based conflict resolution methods are being used to address recurring land disputes in the state.
