The National Association of Nigerian Polytechnic Students (NANPS) has called on the Federal Government, specifically President Bola Tinubu, to sign a bill aimed at eliminating the disparity between Bachelor degrees and Higher National Diplomas (HND) in the country.

The dichotomy between these two academic qualifications has long been a concern, particularly in the civil service where university degrees are often favored over HND certificates.

In response to this issue, NANPS Senate has planned a one-day rally in Lagos under the theme "Save Polytechnic Education," with the goal of raising awareness and urging President Tinubu to address the matter before May 29.

Despite previous efforts, including the passage of a bill by the National Assembly, the dichotomy persists due to the lack of presidential assent. NANPS is determined to keep the pressure on until tangible progress is made in resolving this issue.
