Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam has officially assumed office as the 4th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Gashua, succeeding Professor Maimuna Waziri, who bowed out after completing her tenure.
The handover was marked by a colourful ceremony held at the University’s 1,000-capacity Lecture Theatre. The event was well attended by principal officers, members of Senate, staff, students, and other key stakeholders.
In her valedictory remarks, Professor Waziri expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the collective achievements of her administration in advancing the university's academic and infrastructural landscape. She urged the university community to extend the same level of cooperation to her successor.
