The public is being cautioned about a new scam involving the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Scholarship Scheme. Fraudulent messages have been reported, falsely claiming that students have been selected for a scholarship at Igbinedion University.

The deceptive messages include a false claim: “Dear student, congratulations! Your name has been successfully offered to study at Igbinedion University under the Office of the Presidential Amnesty Program for the 2024/2025 academic session. You are to resume in September. Please call your coordinator and resubmit your information to the school today, August 21, 2024. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.”

The PAP Office has confirmed that these messages are not authentic and that no such communications are issued by their office. The PAP scholarship application process is entirely free, and any requests for payment or personal information are fraudulent.
