Rawletta Barrow Shines Bright as Recipient of UK Rhodes Scholarship, Achieves Master's in Law at the University of Oxford

Moving to the United Kingdom to further her studies, she recently celebrated the completion of her Bachelor of Civil Law with Merit from the University of Oxford, renowned for offering one of the world's most challenging postgraduate degrees in law.

In a tale of academic brilliance and determination, Rawletta Barrow, a young lady from Guyana, has not only secured a full scholarship from the prestigious Rhodes Trust foundation but has also earned a master's degree in Law from the University of Oxford, England.
Rawletta's journey began with obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of West Indies, Cavehill, Jamaica. Moving to the United Kingdom to further her studies, she recently celebrated the completion of her Bachelor of Civil Law with Merit from the University of Oxford, renowned for offering one of the world's most challenging postgraduate degrees in law.
Expressing her elation, Rawletta shared, "It feels unreal to say, but this little Guyanese girl is now the holder of a Bachelor of Civil Law with Merit from the University of Oxford, one of the world’s most difficult postgraduate degrees in law."
Despite the uncertainties and challenges that marked her Oxford experience, Rawletta remained steadfast in her faith and self-belief. She matriculated into the university with hope, and her journey unfolded with doubt, uncertainty, grief, but also moments of readjustment, redirection, and self-growth.

Acknowledging the support of her parents, family, and friends, Rawletta expressed gratitude for their unwavering encouragement. She specifically thanked her tutor at the University of Oxford's faculty of law for providing an incredible learning experience. Additionally, Rawletta extended her appreciation to the Rhodes Trust Foundation for not only funding her degree but also offering support in various ways.
Looking ahead, Rawletta's academic journey continues at Oxford University as she sets her sights on pursuing a Doctorate in Law (DPhil Law). She eagerly anticipates the opportunities and challenges that the new chapter holds for her.
