The Students’ Union Government of Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, has clarified that the official shuttle transport fare on campus remains 150 naira, dismissing reports of an increase to 200 naira.
In a statement issued to students, the SUG emphasized that no approval has been granted for any fare increment.
Students were advised to ensure they pay only the approved amount and insist on receiving correct change in cases where they are overcharged by shuttle operators.
The union further noted that any adjustment to transport fares can only be implemented after proper consideration and formal approval by the university management.
It also stated that a meeting will be held to address the issue, with any future decisions to be officially communicated to the student body.
The SUG urged students to remain calm and cooperative while the matter is being reviewed.
