Empowering Minds: Senator Osita Ngwu Launches Educational Revolution with Secondary School Quiz Competition in Enugu West Constituency

Enugu West Constituency Senator, Osita Ngwu, is set to boost basic education through a recently announced quiz competition for secondary schools in the area. The competition, slated to commence on October 4, 2023, in Awgu Local Government Area, is a testament to Ngwu's commitment to fulfilling campaign promises made during the electioneering period.

According to a statement released by Francis Eneiga, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on human capital development, Senator Ngwu aims to encourage excellence among students in the region, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in societal development.

"Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu made several promises to the people in the course of his campaign, and he has since hit the ground running. One of such promises is to boost education, making our people develop more interest in pursuing excellence; that is the essence of the school quiz," the statement highlighted.

The competition will see the winning school receive a cash prize of N500,000, the second position awarded N300,000, and the third position granted N200,000. Additionally, there will be a consolation prize of N50,000 for the fourth position.

Ngwu also underscored the importance of recognizing and supporting educators, stating, "There will be academic sponsorship for teachers of the winning school." Furthermore, he highlighted ongoing efforts to provide higher institution scholarships, with 10 students already benefiting from the Senator's scholarship program.
