SLUK Partners with Nigerian Red Cross to Launch Landmark First Aid Training Initiative

In a strategic effort to enhance emergency preparedness, Sule Lamido University (SLUK), Kafin Hausa, successfully conducted its first-ever First Aid Training Workshop on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The program was organized by the University Medical Services (UMS) in collaboration with the Jigawa and Kano State Branches of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS).

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, inaugurated the workshop, emphasizing that first-aid proficiency is a critical community asset. Represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, Dr. Mustapha Hussaini, the Vice-Chancellor urged participants to internalize the life-saving techniques to ensure maximum impact within the university and the host community.

The Vice-Chancellor extended formal appreciation to the program’s sponsor, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi, the Coordinator of Health and Care for the NRCS and the immediate past Acting Director of SLUK’s University Medical Services.
