Pioneer ABU Dentistry Students Receive Working Tools

The pioneer students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, have received working tools to kickstart their practice.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, congratulated the students for being the foundation of dentistry in ABU.
He said the investment in them was to ensure that the Faculty of Dentistry becomes the best in the country, emphasizing that no other pioneer students had received such care and attention.
He appreciated the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dahiru Ismail, and the Dean of Dentistry, Prof. S. O. Ajike, for their commitment to the growth and success of the programme.
He specially thanked them for establishing contacts that are adding value to the Faculty in terms of equipment and training.
He called on the students to reciprocate by studying hard, remaining committed to learning and graduating with expertise.
In his address, the Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Prof. Dahiru Ismail, said the tools were donated by someone who had shown love and done a lot for the Faculty.
According to him, the gesture was because the donor believed ABU has the potential to have the best Faculty of Dentistry.
Prof. Ismail thanked the Vice-Chancellor for always supporting the Faculty, which is evident in its getting accreditation, while encouraging the students to remain dedicated as the pioneer students of the Faculty.
The Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. S. O. Ajike, expressed delight that the 14 pioneer students whom he referred to as 'The Risk Takers' were being supported with their personal working tools before graduation.
He appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the entire management for always supporting anything that would ensure the success of the Faculty.
The Vice-Chancellor was supported by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Bello Sabo, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi.
Each student received a set of tools comprising dental syringes, electric scalers and dental hand pieces.
