Our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, last Thursday (January 18, 2024), welcomed Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, for a productive meeting.

Mr Bamigbetan emphasised the vital role University of Ilorin can play in shaping Nigeria's future. He urged the university to take a leading position in developing the skilled workforce needed to unlock the strategic potential of our nation's mineral resources.

Mr. Bamigbetan pointed out that Nigeria boasts of 44 major minerals and thousands of deposits, worth a staggering $70 billion. He stressed that this wealth of resources underscores the crucial role Unilorin can play in preparing qualified professionals to drive the sustainable development of this vital sector.
