Sule Lamido University Commences Sensitization on New Research Policy

The University Research Policy Implementation Steering Committee (URSC) of Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLUK), has officially launched a university-wide sensitization programme for faculty members regarding its new Research Policy. 

The workshop series began on Monday, February 10, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on Monday, February 16, 2026. This initiative follows the recent inauguration of the URSC and the Board of Research, Innovation and Partnership (BRIP) on January 27, 2026, by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai. 

Key Objectives of the Sensitization:

Operational Launch: Activating the divisions within the newly established Directorate of Research, Innovation and Partnership (DRIP).

Policy Awareness: Ensuring all faculty members are well-versed in the comprehensive University Research Policy, which aims to foster "innovative applications of knowledge" to solve societal problems.

Capacity Building: Developing initial internal research capacity and guiding Deputy Directors as the university moves toward appointing a substantive Director for DRIP. 

The URSC is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Nasir Faruk, and is tasked with ensuring the full-scale execution of research priorities across all faculties.
