The Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK) recently hosted its Second Faculty of Humanities Symposium to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of the late Emir of Dutse, Alhaji (Dr.) Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi, CON.
The event, held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, brought together prominent traditional rulers, academic scholars, and government officials to reflect on the theme: “The Life and Times of Late Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi.”

A Model of Statesmanship: Vice-Chancellor Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai described the late Emir's reign as a "reservoir of rich Hausa culture" and a testament to egalitarian leadership. He emphasized that the symposium serves to domesticate the Emir's philanthropic and religious contributions for future generations.
Religious & Ethical Reform: The Chief Imam of Dutse, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Sani Birnin Kudu, presented a paper detailing how the late monarch used his influence to harmonize religious knowledge with practical ethical reform, moving beyond "symbolic patronage" to sincere societal transformation.
Global Intellectualism: The Galadiman Dutse, Alhaji Basiru Muhammadu Sanusi, highlighted the late Emir’s lifelong passion for research and global education, noting his historical significance dating back to the 1956 reception of Queen Elizabeth II in Kaduna.
