Sule Lamido University Implements Revised Internet Service Plan for Staff and Students

Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, has announced the approval of a revised Internet Service Sustainability Plan, set to take effect from January 1, 2025, for staff and the 2024/2025 academic session for students.

The University's Governing Council, at its 40th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 29th August 2024, approved the new plan, which includes a structured subscription fee for both staff and students. The plan aims to deploy internet infrastructure across the University’s premises and provide reliable internet services for the academic community.

Under the new plan, staff in various categories will be required to pay different subscription charges, with monthly and annual fees outlined as follows:

- Management and Senior Staff**: N1,000/month or N12,000/year for unlimited internet services with 1GB per day

- Junior Staff: N1,000/month or N12,000/year for 670MB/day

- Undergraduate Students: N500/month or N6,000/year for 500MB/day

- Postgraduate Students: N1,000/month or N12,000/year for 1GB/day

- Special Plan: N1,000/month or N12,000/year for 30GB/month

The plan also includes daily data limits, ensuring that internet access is regulated for academic use. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the university's digital infrastructure, supporting academic activities, and providing necessary resources for both staff and students.

The announcement was made by Adamu Mohammed, the Registrar and Secretary to the University Council.
