Theatre Arts Department Honors NSUK Vice Chancellor Sa'adatu as Cultural Ambassador

Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, was named Cultural Ambassador during the 2024 Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Workshop on September 14, 2024.

Theatre Arts Department Honors NSUK Vice Chancellor Sa'adatu as Cultural Ambassador

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, has been honored as the Cultural Ambassador by the Department of Theatre and Cultural Studies. The award was presented during the 2024 Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Workshop held on Saturday, 14th September 2024, at the Theatre Arts Complex of the University.

During her acceptance speech, Professor Sa'adatu applauded the Department for organizing the Entrepreneurship Workshop, noting its significance in equipping students with entrepreneurial skills. She emphasized that the workshop would inspire students to develop innovative business ideas that combine cultural heritage with creativity and economic opportunities. She also urged the Department to collaborate with the Entrepreneurship Development Centre on branding and marketing the products showcased at the event. Furthermore, she reaffirmed the University's commitment to introducing more entrepreneurial programs aimed at producing self-sufficient graduates and employers of labor.

The event also featured remarks from His Royal Highness, the Odyong Nyankpa, Barrister Joel Aninge, who underscored the importance of preserving cultural heritage. He praised the University for producing its first female Vice Chancellor, who continues to lead with distinction.

The Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaya, who served as Chairman of the event, commended the Department for its efforts and pledged to support students in building networking opportunities.

Dr. Chikada, the Head of Department, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries present and highlighted that the workshop was designed to introduce students to the concept of cultural entrepreneurship and encourage innovation within the cultural industries.

The event concluded with the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Adam Binchi, presenting an award of honor to Professor Sa'adatu in recognition of her contributions to cultural development and education.
