Thomas Adewumi University has officially inaugurated its Theatre Troupe and Cultural Centre, marking a significant step in the institution’s drive to promote creativity, cultural expression, and holistic student development.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the university auditorium, brought together key stakeholders including the Founder and Chancellor, Engr Dr Johnson Adewumi, Co-Founder Dr Mrs Gloria Adewumi, His Royal Highness Oba Oluwafemi Olawuyi, members of the Oloko-in-Council, principal officers of the university, staff, and students.

The event was described as a milestone in the university’s commitment to integrating arts and culture into its broader educational framework, alongside academic and professional training.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic striking of the gong by the Chancellor, signifying excellence, cultural heritage, and a new phase in the university’s creative development agenda.

The programme also featured a stage performance titled “The Moxie of Akiti-Oko,” a dramatic retelling of the origin of Oko-Irese, which showcased student creativity, storytelling ability, and artistic performance.
