Tompolo Honored with Excellence Award by Nigeria Maritime University

High Chief Government Ekpomupolo, widely known as Tompolo, has been awarded the Award of Excellence by Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko. This recognition celebrates Tompolo’s significant contributions to the institution’s development and growth.

The award presentation took place during a special ceremony where Mr. Iseru Ebike, a leading lecturer at NMU, praised Tompolo’s unwavering commitment to the university. Ebike highlighted Tompolo’s substantial intervention projects that have substantially advanced the university’s infrastructure and academic environment.

“Tompolo’s various targeted assistance has played a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by our university,” said Ebike. “His investment in NMU, particularly through the Mieka Dive project, has established our institution as a premier maritime university in Nigeria.”

Ebike also commended Tompolo for providing a secure environment for academic and social activities, noting that the university has experienced no incidents of crime or kidnapping since its inception. This safety has greatly contributed to the smooth operation of the university over the past six years.

Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Media Consultant to Tompolo, received the award on his behalf. He expressed gratitude for the recognition and described Tompolo as a philanthropist with a genuine concern for the advancement of education in Nigeria. Bebenimibo, a scholar from Delta State University (DELSU), encouraged NMU lecturers and staff to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the institution's progress.
