UCH Management Reaffirms Support for Oritamefa Medical Specialist Initiative

The Management of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has pledged its continued collaboration and support for the Oritamefa Medical Specialist Initiative (OMSI) to further enhance specialized healthcare delivery.

The commitment was reaffirmed on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the initiative to the hospital’s management.

The OMSI delegation was led by its President, Dr. Bamidele Popoola, who expressed profound appreciation to the UCH management for providing the institutional support necessary to achieve the initiative’s recent milestones. Dr. Popoola highlighted that the synergy between both bodies has been instrumental in advancing medical excellence and requested sustained cooperation to meet future objectives.

Responding on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Professor Olubukola Adesina, lauded the initiative for its dedication and impact.

"The Management deeply appreciates the hard work, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by the OMSI team," Professor Adesina stated. She assured the delegation that UCH remains committed to providing the enabling environment required for the initiative to reach even greater heights in the 2026 service year.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to explore new areas of partnership aimed at improving patient outcomes and maintaining UCH’s status as a premier tertiary health institution.
