The University of Westminster has introduced its fully funded Sanctuary Scholarship for students seeking to pursue a Master’s degree in the UK. This prestigious scholarship offers a full tuition fee waiver and provides an additional £1,000 per month for living expenses over a 12-month period, aimed at supporting asylum seekers and individuals with refugee status.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Westminster Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship for the 2025 academic year, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold an offer for a full-time Master’s course starting in September 2024 or January 2025 at the University of Westminster.
  • Reside in the UK and hold one of the following immigration statuses:
    • UK asylum seeker
    • UK discretionary leave to remain (due to an asylum application)
    • UK limited leave to remain (due to an asylum application)
    • UK refugee status

Applicants already possessing a Master’s degree or eligible for postgraduate loans from Student Finance are ineligible. Additionally, certain courses like Postgraduate Diplomas and professional qualifications are excluded from this opportunity.

Application Process

To apply, candidates must first secure a place in a full-time Master’s degree program at the University of Westminster. Then, they are required to submit the completed Sanctuary Scholarship application form along with their academic transcripts as a PDF attachment to scholarships@westminster.ac.uk.

The deadline for applications is November 22, 2024.
