UNIJOS Releases Adjusted 2025/2026 Academic Calendar

The management of University of Jos has released an adjusted academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, outlining revised dates for registration, lectures, examinations, matriculation, industrial attachment, and other academic activities.

According to the updated schedule issued by the university, online registration for newly admitted students will commence on November 17, 2025, while returning students are expected to begin registration on November 24, 2025.

Academic activities for the first semester are scheduled to begin on December 1, 2025, with late registration starting on December 8 and final registration closing on December 12, 2025.

The university also fixed January 15, 2026, for the matriculation ceremony of newly admitted students.

Under the revised timetable, first semester lectures will end on March 14, 2026, while examinations are expected to commence on March 16, 2026.

The calendar accommodates public holiday breaks, including the Eid-el-Fitr and Easter holidays, before examinations conclude on April 25, 2026.

Following the examinations, industrial attachment and teaching practice exercises will begin on April 27, 2026, alongside the compilation and submission of first semester results.

The university senate is expected to approve first semester examination results on May 21, 2026.

For the second semester, lectures are scheduled to commence on May 18, 2026, and run until August 8, 2026, while second semester examinations will hold from August 10 to August 29, 2026.

Compilation and submission of second semester results will continue through September, with the university senate expected to approve final results on September 24, 2026.

The adjusted calendar also indicates that academic staff leave will run from September 21 to November 1, 2026, while the institution’s proposed convocation ceremony is expected to hold between October 5 and October 10, 2026.

Industrial attachment programmes are scheduled to end on October 24, 2026, while lectures for the 2026/2027 academic session will officially commence on November 2, 2026.

The university advised students to take note of the adjustments and comply with all academic timelines and registration deadlines.
