UNILAG Student Deborah Iwalola Johnson-Opeseitan Breaks 61-Year Record with Perfect CGPA Of 5.0 CGPA

A mother of two, Deborah Iwalola Johnson-Opeseitan, has made history at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) by graduating with a perfect 5.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in her master's degree program in Zoology (Natural Resources Conservation).
This achievement is the highest result ever recorded in the department since its inception 61 years ago.
Deborah, a staff member of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA), initially pursued a bachelor's degree in Botany at the University of Ibadan. She later earned a master's degree in Public Health (Epidemiology) but paused her academic pursuits due to marriage and children. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to return to school and pursue another master's degree in Natural Resources Conservation at UNILAG.
Deborah credited her husband and boss for their unwavering support throughout her journey. She emphasized that her return to school was a personal decision to prove that motherhood and career should not end one's academic dreams.
Deborah urges students to be diligent, committed, and surround themselves with people who understand their journey. She believes that staying true to one's goals is key to achieving success .
