UNIMAID Releases 3,000 Certificates to NTI Graduates After Prolonged Delay

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released 3,000 certificates belonging to graduates of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna, marking a major breakthrough in resolving the long-standing issue of pending certificates.

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has released 3,000 certificates belonging to graduates of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna, marking a major breakthrough in resolving the long-standing issue of pending certificates.

The development followed a three-day official visit by the Director and Chief Executive of NTI, Professor Sadiya Sani Daura, and her delegation to the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. During the visit, Professor Daura engaged in a series of consultations with university authorities aimed at addressing the backlog.

At a brief handover ceremony held at the Vice Chancellor’s office in the Senate Building, the Vice Chancellor of UNIMAID, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, formally presented the certificates to the NTI Director and Chief Executive.

Professor Daura, while speaking on the purpose of her visit, explained that she recognised the urgency of issuing certificates to graduates, as the documents are essential for employment and career advancement. She expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and university management for their cooperation and reaffirmed NTI’s readiness to resolve any remaining issues.

She also highlighted NTI’s role in offering specialised training for teachers based on specific needs and encouraged the university to take advantage of such opportunities for its academic staff.

In his remarks, Professor Mele commended Professor Daura for her proactive leadership and dedication, noting that the presentation of the certificates represented an important milestone in the partnership between both institutions. He further announced that UNIMAID would soon submit a teacher training proposal to NTI to strengthen collaboration.

Earlier, the Director of Affiliated Colleges at UNIMAID, Professor Mohammed Mukaila, acknowledged Professor Daura’s intervention in settling outstanding obligations, which made the release of the certificates possible.

Professor Daura was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Bala Danyaro Aminu, Special Adviser to the Director and Chief Executive; Alhaji Jamilu Abdulkadir, Personal Assistant to the Director and Chief Executive; and Yusha’u Ahmed, Head of Public Relations and Protocol.
