University College Hospital, Ibadan Receives NUC Approval to Offer B.Sc Nursing
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted approval for the School of Nursing at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, to offer a full-time Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) degree program in affiliation with the University of Ibadan.

The approval was communicated in a letter dated 6th November 2025.
Dr. Mrs. Adenike Olaniyi, Principal of the School of Nursing, UCH, Ibadan, lauded the hospital management, led by Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, for their unwavering dedication in meeting the rigorous standards set by NUC. She emphasized that this milestone reflects the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development in nursing.
“Students now have the opportunity to pursue a distinguished nursing degree within the premises of University College Hospital, Ibadan,” Dr. Olaniyi remarked, highlighting the significance of the achievement for aspiring nursing professionals.

Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, Chief Medical Director of UCH, congratulated the School of Nursing on the accomplishment, noting that the NUC’s approval is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both staff and students.
