University of Ilesa Staff Crushed to Death by Falling Container in Tragic Accident

In a heartbreaking incident along the Ilesa-Ibodi road, a female staff member of the University of Ilesa lost her life when a container filled with cashew nuts fell off a truck and landed on her car.
Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing event, which unfolded just a few meters away from the main gate of the institution, causing panic among passersby who rushed to the scene to aid the victim.

According to reports, the staff member had just finished her work for the day and was on her way home when the accident occurred, trapping her vehicle under the fallen container.The tragic incident resulted in a significant traffic jam on the busy road, as efforts to rescue the victim and clear the road were hindered by the blocked passage.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, expressed profound sadness over the loss and called for a thorough investigation into the accident to hold those responsible accountable.Governor Adeleke directed relevant government agencies to investigate the circumstances leading to the accident and to implement new regulations regarding the usage of narrow roads by heavy-duty trucks.
The University of Ilesa community mourns the untimely demise of their colleague and extends condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
