University of Maiduguri Students' Union Government Addresses NELFUND Refund and Application Issues

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Maiduguri has issued a statement regarding the refund of NELFUND funds for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The SUG leadership, led by President Yahaya Maigari, is working closely with the university management to resolve issues affecting students' refunds.

According to the statement, the issues are primarily due to name mismatches between submitted forms and bank accounts, use of microfinance banks and wallet accounts, and incorrect account numbers or bank names. The SUG has assured students that the management is making efforts to resolve the issue, and some students who launched complaints have already received their refunds.

The SUG has also provided guidelines for ongoing NELFUND applications, advising students to ensure accurate information and avoid mistakes. For students unable to reapply, the SUG has outlined steps to update their biodata and submit the necessary documents to the Bursary Department for uploading.
