UNIZIK Banking & Finance Class of '99 Empowers Students with Tech and Tuition Support
In a powerful display of "giving back," the 1999 Alumni Set of the Department of Banking and Finance at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has launched a comprehensive empowerment initiative to support current students.
The alumni group visited their alma mater to donate high-end laptops to students across all levels and present tuition cheques to indigent students to cover their fees for the current academic session.
The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and alleviate the financial burdens hindering academic excellence. Representing the 1999 set, Ahmed Inuwa and Martins Onyegbule reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the department’s growth, noting that the gesture was a token of their dedication to the next generation of financial experts.
The presentation ceremony was overseen by the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Francis O. Nwankwo, and the Head of Department, Prof. Gideon K. Ezu. The university management lauded the alumni for aligning with the vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, which emphasizes robust alumni engagement as a pillar for institutional development.
Beneficiary students expressed profound gratitude, pledging to utilize the tools and funds for their intended academic purposes. The event, attended by lecturers from across the Faculty, served as a call to other alumni sets to emulate this noble example of selfless service to the University.
