UNIZIK VC, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, Hosts NASU Delegation

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, received the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), UNIZIK Branch, in his office on Monday.

During the visit, NASU Chairperson, Comrade Chigozie Ikegulu, welcomed the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Union and highlighted key challenges faced by members. These included delays in the release of promotion letters, issues surrounding unpaid staff, and concerns regarding the Earned Allowance for eligible employees.

In response, Prof. Anyaehie commended the Union for its unity and professional presentation. He assured members that his administration would review the raised concerns and emphasized the importance of inclusiveness, collaboration, and continuous self-improvement in serving the University effectively.

Other members of the NASU delegation present included Comrade Vivian Obika, Chairperson of the Nnewi Chapter, and Comrade Chijioke Odili, Secretary, among others. The engagement reflects UNIZIK’s commitment to active dialogue with staff unions to enhance institutional efficiency and staff welfare.
