Usmanu Danfodiyo University Dismisses Staff Over Alleged NYSC Mobilization Fraud

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has approved the dismissal of a staff member, Malam Garba Ahmed, over allegations of misconduct.

The decision was taken at the Council’s 176th meeting held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

In a statement issued by the University, Ahmed was found guilty of illegally uploading unqualified students for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization.

The dismissal takes immediate effect from the date of the Council’s decision. Until his removal, Ahmed served in the Registry Department of the institution.

The University reiterated its commitment to discipline and institutional integrity, stressing that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for acts of serious misconduct.
