Turkish Embassy Initiates Strategic Academic Partnership Talks with Bayero University Kano

The Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, has paid an official visit to Bayero University Kano to explore academic partnerships with Turkish universities, focusing on research collaboration, as well as staff and student exchange.

The visit, his first to any Nigerian university since assuming office, reflects growing efforts to strengthen educational ties between Nigeria and Turkey.

Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, reaffirmed the University’s readiness to build strategic collaborations, highlighting BUK’s strong academic profile, global recognition, and research strengths in areas such as dryland agriculture, renewable energy, and public health.

Both parties expressed optimism about formalising partnerships that will enhance knowledge exchange, expand opportunities for students, and deepen international cooperation.
