WAEC Announces Kick-off date of Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed the commencement of the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates. The examination, which marks the Second Series for 2024, is set to begin on Friday, October 25, and will run through to December 20.

In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC revealed that the registration period has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, allowing more candidates to register. The council noted that the upcoming examination will adopt a hybrid mode, where candidates will answer objective questions on-screen, while essay and practical components will be tackled using provided booklets.

“The final timetable for the examination is available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website,” WAEC stated, advising all candidates to prepare adequately and take note of the registration extension deadline.
