Yaba College of Technology's Rector, Dr. Engr Ibraheem Abdul, stressed the significance of an efficient transportation system and infrastructural development as fundamental pillars of Nigeria's economic prosperity. His remarks were delivered during the third edition of the Annual Lecture Series organized by TPL Dr. Abubakar Mobolaji Olaseni, which focused on sustainable transportation and infrastructure development.

The event, held at Yabatech's Yusuf Grillo Auditorium, gathered experts to deliberate on strategies for unlocking Nigeria's socio-economic potentials through enhanced transportation systems.

Chairing the lecture, Bar. Samuel Agbeluyi, former President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, underscored the challenges posed by Nigeria's inadequate physical and social infrastructure. He emphasized the critical role of sustainable transportation and infrastructural development in improving citizens' welfare and harnessing Nigeria's vast socio-economic potentials.

Guest lecturer Prof. Bamidele Abiona Badejo emphasized the necessity of professionalism and strategic frameworks in managing Nigeria's transportation system. He called for urgent improvements in existing transport modes and advocated for public enlightenment and engagement to address transportation challenges effectively.

In his closing remarks, Tpl Dr. Abubakar Mobolaji Olaseni emphasized the importance of modernizing transport systems to unlock Nigeria's economic potential. He urged government authorities to prioritize the development and publication of comprehensive transport policies at both federal and state levels. Additionally, he highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in revolutionizing urban transport and proposed its adoption to enhance sustainable transportation and infrastructure development in Nigeria.
