15-Year-Old Adaeze Chukwuzolem Onaro Secures N5 Million Scholarship Victory

In a remarkable achievement, 15-year-old Adaeze Chukwuzolem Onaro, a student of Fountain Heights Secondary School in Surulere, Lagos, triumphed over eleven other finalists to clinch the prestigious N5 million scholarship in the 2023 UBA Foundation National Essay Competition (NEC).

Adaeze's victory allows her the freedom to pursue her studies at any African university of her choice. The ecstatic young scholar expressed her joy with triumphant shouts of "Yes! I did it! I won!" as she celebrated her remarkable accomplishment.

Other finalists were not left empty-handed, as they received educational grants, modern laptops, and various consolation prizes. The second position went to Abdulhameed Khadijah Husna of Sweet Haven High School, Kano State, earning a N3 million educational grant, a laptop, and additional prizes. Chukwuma-Okoh Naomi from Queens College, Yaba, Lagos secured the third position, receiving an N2.5 million grant and a brand-new laptop.
