Myles McCants, a 17-year-old African-American student from Florida, has etched his name in history as the first black valedictorian of Haines City High School in the United States. He achieved this remarkable feat with an impressive 4.40 cumulative grade point average.

In response to his historic achievement, Myles expressed his happiness and excitement, highlighting his close friendship with the second-best graduating student, Aria. He stated, "I don’t think it’s fully hit me yet. I’m glad that Aria is right there next to me. If I were to lose the spot, I’d definitely want it to be to her."

Additionally, he served as the president of the student government in his final year.

Notably, Myles engaged in sports, excelling in both golf and basketball. His dedication to learning extended to taking Advanced Placement (AP) classes and earning college credits while still in high school.Myles extended his gratitude to his sister, Taylar-Simone McCants, for her unwavering support. He also offered valuable advice to fellow students, suggesting they complete 70 percent of their homework during available school hours as an effective study strategy.
