17-year-old girl, Tatyana Alves has been awarded scholarships worth $9.7 million to 72 universities across the United States. Tatyana’s decision has clearly paid off with her numerous scholarship offers which offers her the opportunity to pursue a degree in social justice and engineering.

17-year-old girl, Tatyana Alves has been awarded scholarships worth $9.7 million to 72 universities across the United States, marking a remarkable achievement in her academic journey.

Tatyana, a graduate of Marygrove High School in Detroit, was among the first 95 seniors to ever graduate from the school.

Aside from her academic success, Tatyana was voted “Most Positive” in her class for her uplifting personality. She is known for her “great morning” greetings and “beautiful day” wishes, and she routinely responds with “amazing” when asked about her day. “I just want other people to thrive. Being positive helped me to find my purpose, and I think I’ve made an influence on a lot of people,” she said.

In 2019, Tatyana and 119 other students took a chance by enrolling at the newly established Marygrove High School, which is dedicated to developing “critical thinkers and community-minded citizens who have the skills and knowledge to be makers and leaders in the 21st century.”

 Tatyana’s decision has clearly paid off with her numerous scholarship offers which offers her the opportunity to pursue a degree in social justice and engineering, “Our school isn’t as well known, given that it is new. I wanted to be challenged and I feel that an application entrance-examination school does that. I feel that application high schools are filled with a lot of opportunities,” she said.
