2023 election: Akwa Ibom Poly announces closure for upcoming General Elections

The Management of the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic (Akwa Poly), has announced closure ahead of the 2023 general elections, Myschoolnews report.

In a memo released and signed by the registrar of the institution, MR. INI D. EBONG, it was stated that the decision to close the institution was due to the directive of the Honorable Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu.

The memo reads below;

Sequel to the directive from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) that Polytechnics and similar tertiary institutions be closed for the forthcoming General Elections as directed by Honourable Minister of Education, I am directed to inform all Students of the institution to proceed on vacation with effect from Wednesday, 22nd February to Tuesday 14th March, 2023.

Accordingly, Management has directed that all academic activities to be suspended within this period to enable both Staff and Students to participate fully in the upcoming General Elections.

The Security personnel are by this circular directed to exhibit extra vigilance on lives and property on campus during the vacation period.

Normal work and academic activities will resume for all Staff and Students on Wednesday, 15th March, 2023.
