AAU Ekpoma Warns Newly Admitted Students Against Clearance Fee Scams
AAU Ekpoma has warned newly admitted students about a scam involving Mr. Stevenson, operating through Steventech Academy, who is charging inflated fees for clearance services.
The Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Ekpoma administration has issued a cautionary notice to newly admitted students, warning them of an exploitative scam targeting first-year enrollees. Reports indicate that Mr. Stevenson, operating through an entity known as "Steventech Academy," has been soliciting excessive fees under the pretense of providing assistance with the mandatory clearance process.
AAU clarified that essential clearance documents, such as the JAMB Original Result, Acceptance Letter, Affidavit, Birth Certificate, and Local Government Certificates, are available to students at minimal or no cost through authorized university channels. Students are strongly advised to avoid third-party services for document processing, as the entire clearance procedure can be completed independently by following the official guidelines provided by the university.
"Mr. Stevenson’s operation," the administration stated, "is reportedly charging new students inflated prices for services that are unnecessary and exploitative." The administration emphasized that such third-party involvement is not required, and paying unauthorized fees places students at risk of financial exploitation.
Students are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any individual attempting to charge them for unnecessary services to the AAU administration. By staying informed and adhering to AAU’s outlined procedures, students can protect themselves from these schemes and ensure a smooth and fair clearance experience.
New students are urged to remain cautious and avoid paying unauthorized fees. Following official instructions and accessing the necessary documents through AAU’s legitimate channels can help students save money and steer clear of exploitative practices.
