In an alleged unlawful act, a 15-year-old student and his sister were reportedly arrested by the Nigerian Army from their residence in Obikabia, Abia state.

This incident follows the recent news of unidentified gunmen purportedly murdering five members of the Nigerian Army, an event that has sparked significant unrest in the state.

The sister, Zay, alarmed by her brother’s disappearance, took to Twitter @RoseAgwu, pleading with the Governor of Abia state, Alex Otti, and the Nigerian Army for her sibling’s release.

She wrote, Please Alex Otti, some soldiers entered my home and took my teenage brother who should be in school right now and my sister who had just come home. Please. there’s no information whatsoever on why they took them, where they are taking them to or when they will let them go”.

In a state of distress, she further expressed, “What kind of Country are we living in?, Please tell Nigerian Army to release my 15-year-old Brother and my sister they broke our gate and our doors to carry by 5am this morning. We don’t know where they took them to, there’s no information regarding that at the moment I don’t know their reason, they took people from other compounds too. Please my brother is just 15 years and should be in school right now. They broke our gate, broke our doors and took my siblings, I don’t want hear stories, please this is how people get missing and killed. Please release my siblings, they know nothing about the shooting or unknown gunmen”.

She clarified that her siblings have no connection with the unidentified gunmen. She also mentioned that they were taken without any arrest warrant being shown, and their current location remains unknown.
