ABU Department of Botany Hosts 'Plant is Life Contest' for Secondary School Students

The Department of Botany at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) recently organized a 'Plant is Life Contest' for secondary school students in Zaria. The event aimed to acknowledge the importance of plants in daily life and promote awareness about plant science.

The contest drew 275 registered participants from 31 secondary schools. The Head of the Department of Botany emphasized the significance of plants in human existence and the need to nurture young environmental experts.

The Vice-Chancellor of ABU highlighted the fundamental role of plants in human existence, noting that they are often overlooked despite being the basis of life. He commended the department for organizing the contest, which aims to promote awareness about the importance of plants.
