ABU Welcomes Back Prof. Kabiru Bala After Tenure as Vice-Chancellor

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has welcomed back Prof. Kabiru Bala, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, with a ceremony held at the Department of Building. Prof. Bala served as Vice-Chancellor from May 2020 to April 2025.

The current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, praised Prof. Bala's remarkable tenure, highlighting the review of over 20 policy documents and his impactful leadership as Director of Academic Planning. Prof. Ahmed described Prof. Bala as a hardworking individual who believes in the benefits of hard work.

The Head of the Department of Building, Prof. A.D. AbdulAzeez, stated that Prof. Bala's participation in departmental activities while serving as Vice-Chancellor was valued. He noted that the department had benefited from Prof. Bala's leadership, resulting in significant capacity building and an increase in the number of professors in the Faculty of Environmental Design.

Prof. Bala expressed delight in returning to the department, emphasizing the importance of hard work and appreciating the contributions of ABU alumni during his tenure. He encouraged departments in the Faculty of Environmental Design to consider university facilities as shared resources.
