The Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Professor Ibrahim Umar, has taken steps to address past injustices affecting non-academic staff members.

The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) paid a courtesy visit to the VC to express gratitude for resolving a long-standing issue regarding staff upgrading and promotion.

Previously, some non-academic staff who pursued further education were denied upgrading and promotion despite obtaining official approval. However, Professor Umar has graciously approved the upgrading and change of status for these staff members, resulting in promotions and transitions to new roles.

The NASU leadership has pledged support for the VC's administration, citing his clear vision for the institution's progress. In recognition of Professor Umar's magnanimity, NASU presented him with an award.

Professor Umar expressed appreciation for the award and promised to support diligent staff members in their quest for additional qualifications. He encouraged staff to pursue further education, assuring them of the university's support. The VC also advised newly upgraded and promoted staff to justify their new status with improved performance.
