Adamawa State Polytechnic to Closed for One Week Due to Student Protests

The Adamawa State Polytechnic in Yola has been temporarily closed for one week, effective April 28, 2025, following a student demonstration on the main campus.
The protest was sparked by demands for the immediate restoration of power by the Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC).
The institution's management has directed all students to vacate the hostel and school premises by 12:00 noon. The closure aims to allow the management to process the restoration of power and resolve the issue.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. Simnawa Samuel Ayuba, signed the notice informing students of the temporary closure. The development highlights the challenges faced by students and management in the institution, and efforts are expected to be made to resolve the power issue and ensure a smooth academic calendar.
