The Counselling Unit of Admiralty University of Nigeria organized a Mental Wellness Talk on 6th February 2026 at the Conference Hall, aimed at raising awareness on stress management, burnout prevention, and the importance of mental and physical fitness among members of the Sports Unit.

The Counselling Unit of Admiralty University of Nigeria organized a Mental Wellness Talk on 6th February 2026 at the Conference Hall, aimed at raising awareness on stress management, burnout prevention, and the importance of mental and physical fitness among members of the Sports Unit.

The event saw full attendance from both the Counselling and Sports Units, with Mr. Anye Nder Tavershima representing the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Prof. Terna Agba.

The session featured presentations from Mr. Adah Peter C., who discussed stress management and the importance of recognizing and addressing stress early, and Mr. Edward Stephen Ozokede, Acting Head of the Counselling Unit, who addressed “Mental Fitness Beyond the Field.” Mr. Ozokede highlighted the pressures faced by sports personnel, clarified the difference between stress and burnout, and emphasized mental fitness as essential for sustaining performance, emotional balance, and career longevity.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to share experiences and gain practical insights, followed by a vote of thanks from Mr. Ozokede.
