The Management of the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) has imposed a N5,000 fine on final-year students caught wearing costumes during final exams, defying a ban instituted on August 6, 2025.

The directive, outlined in an internal memo from the Dean of Students' Affairs dated August 22, 2025, comes amid growing concerns over exam period misconduct.

The penalty follows the cancellation of the PPL 502 (Company Law II) exam due to students' unauthorized celebrations and costume use, with the rescheduled date set for September 12, 2025. Students who pay the fine will be eligible to retake the exam, while those who fail to comply will be excluded.
