AFUED Vice-Chancellor Prof. Popoola Unveils Strategic Growth Plan for 2026

The Vice-Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Professor Bayode Isaiah Popoola, has announced a comprehensive agenda for 2026 aimed at consolidating the institution’s new status as a full-fledged university and elevating its global academic standing.

Addressing the university community during the New Year prayer meetings on Monday, January 5, 2026, Prof. Popoola outlined a roadmap focused on innovation, staff welfare, and infrastructural completion.

Prof. Popoola highlighted the significant achievements recorded in 2025, which served as the foundation for the university's current trajectory. Key milestones included:

University Transition: The successful upgrade from a College of Education to a full-fledged Federal University.

Academic Clearance: Processing and Senate approval of a backlog of NCE and Degree results.

Personnel Milestones: Payment of salary arrears for newly recruited staff and the appointment of a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Crisis Management: Effectively debunking false reports regarding a road crash involving 18 NYSC-bound students, confirming their safety.

For the 2026 academic year, the Vice-Chancellor pledged a "people-oriented" development agenda. "We shall pursue an agenda of progress and innovation," Prof. Popoola remarked. "We will ensure regular payment of salaries, prioritize staff welfare, and provide a conducive living environment for our students."
