AGF Fagbemi to Speak at UNILORIN 39th Convocation Lecture
The University of Ilorin reveals its 39th Convocation schedule, with a lecture by Attorney-General Prince Fagbemi and the commissioning of new projects by President Tinubu.
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced its 39th Convocation programme, with the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, set to deliver the Convocation Lecture on Friday, October 18, 2024. This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, over the weekend.
According to Mr. Akogun, the convocation events will officially commence on Thursday, October 17, 2024, with a press briefing by the Vice Chancellor at 10:00 a.m. at the University Auditorium. The lecture, titled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria”, will be held at 9:45 a.m. on October 18, at the University Auditorium.
On the same day, the institution's Performing Arts Theatre will host the Convocation Play, "Nilee Wa' (In Our Land)". The main convocation ceremonies will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024, and Tuesday, October 22, 2024, for graduands of '4 Year' and '5 Year' programmes, as well as postgraduate students, respectively.
Notably, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Visitor to the university, is expected to commission several newly completed projects on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, as part of the convocation celebrations.
