Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare Commences NELFUND Disbursement and Fee Refund Process
The Management of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare (ASCOEA), has officially announced the commencement of the disbursement and reconciliation process for students approved under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
In a circular issued by the Registrar, Abdullahi Babbaji, on March 9, 2026, the college confirmed that NELFUND has begun transferring approved sessional school fees directly to the institution's account, in compliance with the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act 2024.
To ensure transparency and avoid double payment, the college has established a clear refund mechanism for beneficiaries who had already settled their fees prior to the NELFUND intervention:
All funds received from NELFUND are applied directly to the beneficiaries' fee accounts for the entire academic session.
Partial Payments: Students who previously paid for the first semester will receive a full refund of the exact amount they paid, as the NELFUND disbursement now covers the total sessional fees (both first and second semesters).
The college is currently undergoing a rigorous verification and reconciliation exercise to ensure every beneficiary is accurately captured. Upon completion, ASCOEA will issue official sessional receipts reflecting the full amount paid by NELFUND on behalf of each student to ensure statutory and audit compliance.
Following a strategic engagement between the College Management, the Students’ Union leadership, and the Provost, the institution has set a deadline for the exercise. All eligible refunds and account reconciliations are expected to be finalized on or before Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
The Registrar urged students to remain calm and rely strictly on official communications from the Administrative Complex as the process reaches its conclusion.
