SAZU Students’ Representative Council Issues Directive on Unauthorized Campus Gatherings
The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi State, has released a formal public announcement regarding the regulation of assemblies and social events within the university premises.
The directive, issued on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, follows a mandate from the University Deanery aimed at maintaining order and campus security.
Requirement for Official Approval
Under the new guidelines, students are strictly prohibited from organizing or participating in any form of gathering or assembly on campus without prior notification and official authorization from the school authorities.
The SRC emphasized that this regulation applies to all events, specifically citing Iftar gatherings and other social or religious assemblies.
Disciplinary Consequences
In a statement signed by the SRC President, Comr. Iliyasu Umar Adamu, the council warned that any individual or group found in violation of this directive would be held accountable. Non-compliance may lead to appropriate disciplinary measures as outlined in the university’s code of conduct.
Call for Compliance
The student leadership urged the entire student body to treat the notice with "seriousness and ensure strict adherence" to the Deanery’s instructions. This move is seen as part of the institution's broader effort to streamline campus activities and ensure that all student engagements are conducted within a safe and approved framework.
The SRC concluded by thanking the students for their cooperation in upholding the university’s standards of discipline and order.
